Denise Mata

VICE PRESIDENT

Denise started her career in Division I college athletics after receiving her bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in communications and a minor in Spanish from Arizona State University. She brings to Sisneros Strategies over a decade of experience in communications, graphic design, copywriting, and relationship management.

She worked for the athletic department at the University of Texas, El Paso (UTEP) for eight years. While working a full-time job, Denise received her master’s degree in Leadership Studies from UTEP. She was named the Assistant Athletic Director of Communications for UTEP in 2017 and oversaw the communications department for six years. During that time, Denise received the 2016 Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) Supper 11 award, given annually to the best performing communication department in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

While with Sisneros Strategies, Denise has created award-winning work, receiving eight Pollie awards from the American Association of Political Consultants & nine Reed Awards from Campaigns & Elections.

When not traveling around the world, Denise resides in El Paso, TX where she can be near family.
